For those travelling from afar, St. Gallen-Altenrhein airport is 51 minutes' drive away.

The location is almost unbeatable-just a three-minute stroll from the station, making it easy to get back on the road or rail. The room was basic and clean, which I appreciated; however, it had some quirks. The coffee machine didn't work, which was a disappointment for a caffeine lover like myself. They do offer a restaurant on-site, but it's worth noting that things start winding down around 9 or 10 PM, so plan ahead for later meals! Breakfast is also nonexistent here, but luckily there's a lovely bakery just two doors down for your morning fix. If you're just passing through and need a place to rest your head, Alpenrose offers good value without the frills. Just don't expect luxurious amenities. It's a smart choice for budget-conscious travelers like myself.
